Destination - Shawnee, Oklahoma

At 3:30pm on Tuesday, the final boxes were loaded for destination Shawnee, OK. The team of 35-40 volunteers from all over the MOV worked non- stop for 7 hours, except for a 20 minute pizza break.

A group of ladies sorted through many bags of clothes, boxing and labeling them to help those on the  receiving end. Many other volunteers sorted and boxed food, cleaning supplies, blankets, and other items.
Working side by side were community members of all ages from many different churches and denominations.

Some acquired great skills, like Ginger who single- handedly taped and prepared 150 smaller boxes. Pastor Steve Thibault learned to drive a forklift (just down the street).
All morning long, pickups, trailers and minivans streamed in with items donated by 30 different churches in the MOV.
United Rentals donated an extra fork lift and Skuttle( the business warehouse we were invading) provided drivers, a forklift, boxing supplies and great hospitality.
A very big thank you goes to owner Davis Powers, and employees Al and Mike.....their assistance was vital.

The 48 large containers donated by Solvay made the process very streamlined and limited the amount of lifting and stacking.
The owner of Marietta Transfer Company, Gene Davis, is personally driving and delivering the load and is expected to unload early Thursday morning. Thank you to Dennis Davis in coordinating the trucking logistics for this initiative and Marietta Transfer for donating the transportation.

Pastor Nathan Isaacs in OK has been coordinating with us from the beginning and has been involved since last Tuesday in the relief effort in Shawnee and Moore. Nathan is working directly with pastors and families to distribute this truckload of supplies from the MOV.

This community has proven once again to be generous, responsive, and quick to sacrifice on behalf of others. A lot of personal schedules were shifted this past week to serve others.

Phillipians 4:18 speaks of a gift like this as being a "fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice"
But I have received everything in full and have an abundance; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus what you have sent, a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God. (Philippians 4:18)

Well, churches, and business leaders.

Thank you!

Latest Update On Relief Efforts - 5/22

Tuesday we set in motion a disaster relief effort among our churches and MOV community to deliver supplies to the families in Oklahoma.

Marietta Transfer Company has supplied a truck and driver and fuel for this trip. Solvay is providing us with excellent bulk containers to ship the supplies in.

We will be collecting at several locations in the MOV plus delivering the large container boxes to over 20 churches that are willing to participate to be filled by Tuesday. On Tuesday we will need many willing hands to sort and repack the boxes. The sorting will be done at Skuttle Industries in Marietta beginning at 10am . As soon as the trailer is packed, the driver will leave. Please be in prayer for the families who have lost everything.

In Oklahoma we have pastors that we have known for 20
